Facebook Community Goes Global

We now have patients and families from across the globe supporting each other on our Facebook page. We have been actively encouraging people to share their stories and experiences with each other through the social media platform, and the community has grown to over 700 people.

As with all rare medical conditions, it can be difficult to find other people locally going through a similar experience. We have used our Facebook page to bring people together to support each other, and the willingness to share experiences has been overwhelming.

We cannot provide advice on treatment and diagnosis for individual cases, but by discussing symptoms and experiences with other patients and families, our network are helping each other and giving us a great insight into managing Sydenham’s Chorea.
